If you are Tuvaluan by decent (parents, grandparents are Tuvaluan citizens/born in Tuvalu) but you were born outside of Tuvalu, you need to apply for a Tuvaluan citizenship. Without a confirmation of citizenship letter (which is only issued if you are a citizen), you will not be able apply for a Tuvaluan passport.
For a Tuvaluan Citizenship application, these are the requirements:
- Filled Citizenship application form (download this form from the FORMS Tab)
- Ensure that all the requirements in the application form is submitted
- Payment of $120 NZD into our office Bank Account
- Send us all your documents via email, together with your payment confirmation.
Once we receive all your documents, we will convey them to the appropriate office in Tuvalu for processing. We will keep you updated on the status of your application.
Processing time: Approximately one to two months (if all required documents have been submitted). Please do not expect your application to be completed below the stated period.
Please note that failure to convey all the requirements will be result in an incomplete application and cannot be dealt with further until all requirements are received.
