Passports

New passports are issued by the Tuvalu Immigration & Citizenship department. However, applications are available on line where one should be filling all the mandatory requirements as requested in the application form.
Proof of citizenship must be provided in order to process applications for new passports.

Citizenship

Application for citizenship should accompany the following documents:

  • Passport
  • Police report
  • Birth certificate
  • Proof of connection to Tuvalu
  • Family Tree
  • Claim to land titles

Visitors Visa

Every person travelling to Tuvalu must have a passport. For visitors, visas will be granted upon arrival in Funafuti provided that one has a return ticket as well as a passport that is valid for at least 3 months during time of arrival in Tuvalu.

Visitors Visa is for three months and could be extended for another month. There will be a fee charged if there is a need for extension beyond four months.
Otherwise, one has to leave the country before the expiry of their visitor’s visa.
The issuance of visa will also subject to the validity of the passport.

Work Permits

For work permits, applications should be forwarded to the Tuvalu Immigration directly or to the High Commission prior to travelling to Tuvalu.
Otherwise, cold use the first 3 months visa free, and then apply while in Tuvalu.
